Cult Nails - Living Water

Today's polish is the gorgeous Cult Nails Living Water. Living water has a blue/black jelly like base with loads of blue and green glitter. It applies beautifully and is opaque in 2 coats. I really like the brush for this polish which is soft and longish and has great control.

I was somewhat surprised to test a random polish in my collection (I have no idea how I got it!) and it was remarkably similar to Living Water. That is NYX Robotic. While the polishes look quite different in the bottles they apply almost identically. NYX Robotic has a slightly finer glitter and dries a wee bit smoother. It also tends more towards blue micro glitter while you can definitely see green glitter in Living Water . . . interesting food for thought though =)



Nfu Oh 61 - oh how lovely you are!

Lately I've really been enjoying holographic polishes and have welcomed Nfu Oh 61 to my collection. What a beauty this is - a rainbow on my fingertips! The formula is amazing to use - dries ultra quick and reveals an amazing myriad of colours - what more could I want?!

China Glaze Flying Dragon . . . . interesting!

Hmmm now how's this for an 'interesting' polish . . . ? I recently aquired this polish in a haul and didn't really notice that it was in fact a neon matte polish. However, the interesting blue and pink glitter in the bottle struck me and I don't have anything in my stash like it.

The application is great - almost opaque in one coat (photos show two) but it looked simply gorgeous while it was wet but then when it dried and mattified (is that a word?) I thought 'oh dear!'

So what do you think?

It kind of reminds me of old vintage vinyl! So I just had to get back the glitter and gloss - this shows one coat of Essie Good to Go . . .

I like this a LOT better glossy - what do you think?

Color Club Love 'em Leave 'em

Unfortunately the sun did not play nicely today and I only managed to get a couple of pictures in the 'almost' sun.

Color Club Love 'em Leave 'em is a holographic warm gold. The formula is just as great as Wild at Heart and dries super fast. This shows three coats . . . perhaps next time I get to wear it the sun will come out and I'll get some great holo shots. In the meantime, it's still a pretty colour . . .

Orly Matte Vinyl with stamping

Today I felt like going with something classic, like black and gold. I used Orly Matte Vinyl for my basecoat. This is a dream to apply and is opaque in 2 coats and dries quickly. Stamping with my favourite China Glaze 2030 to finish.

Color Club With Abandon

Today I'd like to share another Color Club polish with you. I know this one's been around for a while but it's new to me!

Color Club With Abandon is a unique and interesting polish. I don' have anything similar in my stash. This is the most amazing dark brown/black creme base with loads of copper and gold shimmer. The formula is jelly like and the first coat is pretty streaky. The real magic happens with the second coat and the gorgeous shimmer pops. A third coat ensures complete opaqueness.

Hellloooo holo - Color Club Wild at Heart

Oh Color Club - where have you been all my life??? I can't believe I've never used this brand of polish before. In fact I've never used a holo before. Oh my! I am in love with this colour and can't stop looking at my nails - my family have declared me 'totally over the top' and are sick of me saying "would you look at this in the sun!" Mental note to self not do that while driving . . .

Color Club is not a brand widely available in NZ but I did stumble onto this site www.usanailsonline.co.nz and picked me up some great polishes - like this one - Wild at Heart.

Wild at Heart applied like nothing I have. It's practically a one coater and is super pigmented. The brush is on the smaller side like China Glaze but it didn't give me any trouble. The colour is a lovely purple shimmer inside, but outside in the sun is where the real magic happens. These photos show two coats with no topcoat . . .
